The Alpha Theta Chapter of DKG is made up of a little over 50 current and retired educators living in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Each member brings the knowledge of her discipline as well as her personal gifts to help create a dynamic group who work to meet the seven purposes of Delta Kappa Gamma. Within the membership we have early career educators, seasoned veterans, recently retired, and long time retired.
The chapter holds dinner meetings four times during the school year. A picnic is held in August. Gatherings occur when needed to complete special projects. Currently we are supporting Blessings in a Backpack and providing Grant-in-Aid for Early Career Educators.
Opportunities exist for scholarships, enrichment grants, and grant-in-aid through the local Besse Ekis Barr Funds. State and International scholarships and enrichment grants are also available to DKG members.
